De Rosa - Giro D'Italia

It's about time I got my act together and started posting pics of some the classic steel frames I've been collecting over the last few years.
I'd been looking for a De Rosa Frameset in 56/57 for ages, but virtually nothing came up in my price range (sub £500). Then last year a frame came up on Evilbay and I jumped at it. The Giro D'italia frameset wasn't one I'd paid much attention to previously, I'd mainly looked at 80's De Rosa's. However it was made from the much coveted Columbus EL-OS tubing so I splashed the cash and bought it.
I'm not entirely sure which year it dates to, after some research I'd guess at around 1995/1996. I think they only produced this model for a couple of years and the unicrown fork suggests mid 90's onwards.
The original paint and chrome are in ok condition and fine for trundling around the Kent countryside, however the one really annoying thing is that the internal top tube brake cable tubing is damaged so I've had to zip tie the brake cable outer to the top tube !!!!
I may go for a respray and repair in a year or two but I'm just enjoying riding what I think is one of the best riding steel frames you can get.

Nice score.
I do like a De Rosa. But I'm wondering how someone manages to damage an internal cable routing!

Re:

Nice, My favurite colour.

Would have gone for white tape, but that's just personal choice. Black is far more practical.

Enjoy, nice day for a ride around Kent!

FWIW, just ridden to work on my similar era Bianchi. In period kit!

Well, I want to embarrass the club riders that will be out, when I leave here at 11.30!

I looked for a De Rosa Merak for a while, but nothing came up in my size . Also liked the Titanio - I think - bikes that the Gewiss team were using BITD

Re:

The internal rear brake cable tubing is partially blocked by what I think is a crumpled metal outer cable ferrule about 3-4" from one end. I've tried to remove it without any joy so I'll just live with it until I decide to get the frame resprayed and then see if Argos/Enigma can sort it out.
I agree with the comment about white bar tape and would like to do the whole white thing with bar tape, outer cabling, and saddle.

Thanks for the comments

Here are a few more pics
The groupset is Campag Chorus 10 speed apart from the chainset which is Centaur. Campagnolo have never produced a silver compact chainset for Chorus or Record.
