Raleigh Record Sprint 1983

Hi All

After getting a rapid response I have identified my recent acquisition as a Raleigh Record Sprint circa 1983.

Where would I find the frame number on the bike. I have looked but cannot see it but it may have been re-sprayed and cover it as it does not have any decals.

Either under the bottom bracket or on the seat tube underneath the seat on the part of the tube facing backwards about 2 inches down from the seat clamp.

Thanks I found it on the seat tube after clearing some respray paint.
It is NG 3025501. An online chart shows this as N - Nottingham, G - May, 3 - 1983 and the rest is the number in the production run. I also checked the hubs and they are front - Maillard 30 83 and rear Maillard 27 83. So now I know I have a Record Sprint Mk1 from 1983. Now the restoration can begin.

Thanks so much for all the help the forum has now provided. Now I also have the Derailleur details as my rear is some unknown unlabelled. Will put some pictures up that show the current state and as they get done will put good ones up.
