Just found this on bikeradar:
Roberts use a 6 digit where the first 2 are the month, the middle two are the number of the frame built that month, and the last two are the year. I may have the month andframe number the wrong way around.
Charles ROBERTS
Bicycle frame serial number registry
Roberts frames were apparently sequentially numbered until 1984-85, when a new system began, with the first two numbers represent the year, followed by the month and number of production within the month.
I think this/I could stand a regular stem as it's so tall. Looks a bit pants with current one anyway. Also black tape, black seat, and silver grey cables. Or black. Will swap the front end first and see how it feels.
Feel free to offer aesthetic advice. Again, this this a zero cost build. Other than the frame it's all parts from the shed or other bikes. I do have odd silver wheels and 105 brakes but liking the black.
