Raleigh Gran Tour

Dirt Disciple
Just about 1 year ago I finished a restore of a Raleigh Gran Tour, my first project. Since then I've been meaning to post here, better later than never I hope. I have been an avid reader of posts on here for a while and have learnt some useful information so thought it the right thing to do.

It's a framset from the '83 catalogue. The bike as I recieved it was in pretty good condition and with an interesting mix of parts (as chosen by the previous and 1st owner) to make a light-weight tourer. Everthing is original except for the sadlle and latterly, new mudguards. I also replaced the perished items as follows hoods, bar tape, tyres, and all cables and bearings.

Re:

Thanks for the comments, sure is a lovely bike, certainly right about the classic look, I'm sure it looked old fashioned even when brand new! It's a great all rounder though and perfect to ride any day. I'll add some more pics and info as I get time.

Re:

I'm sure many here are familiar with this but here is the page from the 83 catalogue showing the frameset.
