Nortel.le is a local (to me) spanish builder, that sadly went out of business several years ago. I already have one that's off for paint at the moment (finally , link in my sig to a long forgotten build thread). I came across this one a couple of weeks ago, and found it too hard to say no

I bought the bike as it is in the pics - frame and fork are columbus SLX, parts are a mix of CdA and record with 8 speed vento wheels. I've yet to clean it or do anything other than look at it! I like it as it is, but am planning on quite a few changes which hopefully won't take too long as I think I have more or less all the parts already.

More pics and updates as I get things done!

No further pics yet, but everything is going to plan... 10 speed alloy ergo group fitted, new freehub body found for converting the 8 speed ventos to 10 speed, and slowly it's coming together. Just waiting on some white ergo hoods from my LBS, and time to finish it!

So as usual what should have been a reasonably quick build turned out to be several months due to lack of time more than anything.

Took this out for it's first ride yesterday morning though, and although it still needs some fine adjustments and maybe one or two small changes, it's done :)

It took me all of a hundred yards to decide that I like the ride. A lot. I'm still undecided on the white highlights though - maybe changing tape, hoods, cables, saddle to black and the tubs to all black would make it a bit more subtle, and make the frame stand out. What I originally intended was to keep the early 90's look, but with more modern groupset - I think I managed that OK. I still have the original ventos, but didn't convert them to 10 speed yet so haven't tried them with this build, but I think they'll be going on another build anyway.

Groupset is a mix - mostly campag 10 speed, and all alloy, but veloce ergos, chorus rear mech and brakes, record front mech and hubs, original CdA chainset and BB with 10 speed rings fitted...

sorry for the bad phone pics, will try and get out for a decent ride next weekend and take my camera!

Looks absolutely lovely as it is Foz.
Worth the slow build judging by your enthusiasm. :)

Thanks Jamie!

please excuse the modern pedals in the pic though - my sidi G2's with delta cleats have disintegrated, and the only cycling shoes I have are my modern ones with keo cleats fitted...
