Raleigh Rapide

Campagmatic

Devout Dirtbag
This is my latest bike, a Raleigh Rapide. I recently bought it on Gumtree, like most of my bikes. It's in lovely condition, I already stripped it and cleaned all the components and it looks like it has only had one pair of tyres from new and they still had a bit of life left in them. I'll give it a new pair and some fresh (slightly less garish) bar tape. Here's a 'before' photo...then later in the week it should be finished and I'll be back with more.

This was such an easy project, all it needed was a clean up, everything was already running smooth and true. The frame has some pitting/surface rust from storage but I'm no perfectionist and I think it just looks 'right' as it is, so I won't be getting the spray cans out for this one.
I'm thinking I may sell it on and put it towards my ongoing Peugeot build, but I've already got my eye on my next Raleigh.
