About 18 months ago I purchased a Raleigh off Ebay.
Odd mix of components, most of them beyond salvation.
Well I had a few bits knocking about but needed some wheels.
Decided to go the tubular route as I have nostalgic memories of my first bike......
Bought some off a fellow Retro biker and then I organised a respray.
Had a chat with the boys at Vernon Barkers at Dronfield and the whole thing arranged.
They did a great job of the paint but got the decals slightly wrong.
Anyway they offered me a decent discount so home it went.
It has taken me close to a year to fully sort.
So here she is!
1986 531c frame, mixture of Shimano 600 and 105 components with Mavic 501/Mach 2 CD2 wheels.
Typical Raleigh finishing kit.
She rides beautifully. Smooth and yet surprisingly direct,]wanting to be pushed.
She won't be ridden daily but I am pleased with the results.
Another quality British bike saved from the scrapheap!
