Help me to identify the oldschool Wilier

Dmytro1208

Dirt Disciple
Please help me to identify this copper beauty.

I've surfed a lot of stuff in Internet, but what I found is that Marco Pantani was a success on a road bike based on the same frame in 1997. This one looks older, featuring 8-sp Campy Record set+Dura Ace 7402 crank set.

Any info on this one? Specifications, build year, catalogue?

WOW! Is that anodising or a tinted laquer / clear coat?

Whatever it is, that is STUNNING.

Looks like anodizing.

Nevertheless, I'm eager to get any info about the frame, year of build, bike specs and etc... Any help is highly appreciated. :)

Anodising is often very slightly cloudy......looks like laquer over highly polished aluminium. Whatever it is it looks a million dollars.

Aside from that I can't help apart from to ask is it for sale?

Lacquer over chrome or cromovelato. Wilier also did a clear lacquer over copper plate.

Thanks for your feedback! :D

The bike is not for sale, but the frame can be exchengeable for something relevant, since it seems a bit short for me. Fixed it with 130 mm stem.

Made some investigation and finally got some result of the built year.

It's 1996, the year when Wilier celebrated 50 years since Giordano Cottur won the Trieste stage of Giro, and 90 years after the company's creation.

That year Wilier released a line of road and MTB bikes painted their firm "copper jewel" color.

I wonder how much that frameset would cost now.
