the esa was the last of the mexico range,
the nuovo mexico circa 1984 was the precursor to the master,
not the esa, as the 1988 colnago catalog lists both the master and esa

the nouvo mexico in the '84 catalog, which lists no master

the esa was used professionally right into the early nineties,
here's another pro spec esa i had before, in Team Buckler decor,
i it got off a 77 year old who had from a team rider

notice in the later model, the top tube has an internal cable guide, and hoods, the top tube guides on the '88 are off center and in a crimp crease, rather than on top

thanks Neil, would be a quick build as I have every thing, but I broke my hand, and got a cast for 3 weeks,so will be done in around a month
I'm thinking short bull bars and use it when it's windy, as i not ride on the drops in wind and on distance rides
also, the chorus levers are the only parts i don't have and had the bull bars and levers lying in the parts section for 3 years

I know how frustrating it is to be delayed by injury; this time last year I was off work for a month after a car assisted fall from an mtb that left me with a dislocated shoulder / collarbone.

I like the sound of the build, it's nice to have a classic frame as the basis of a practical bike, that is mostly what I build myself.
