1960's Torpado Road Bike

This will be my introduction to this forum, I hope you enjoy my bikes!!

This is my Torpado Road Bicycle, a beautiful low range road bike, that im preparing to be a nice audax to commute in. I've recently got these fenders for it and am about to install them.

Its an italian machine and will be full Campy'ed as time and money allows for it.

Very nice indeed. Im a sucker for anything with large flange hubs and chrome tipped forks...

Nice bike, one for the rBoTM.
Campagnolo OK, but please keep those Universal brakes. So nice... Even nicer and more original to this bike as even old Campagnolo record ones.

Oh! Damn right on the Universal caliper\levers, even thought the hoods are in miserable state I just love them, I never considered removing the Universal set from this bicycle for a Campy, that would be plain stupid and a lack of taste on my part.

Looking for hoods for Universal levers, if anyone has a contact on a pair or two?

But as I said the only Campy parts im going to assemble, now, are the Record Crankset and maybe... just maybe, not for certain, and if I get a sweet deal on a Campy seatpost, I have a NOS Gipiemme but it is a tad slim for the seatpost tube diameter that is 26,0 and the one I have is 25,8.

On the pedals I might maintain the Gipiemme Dual Sprint pedals, and save the Zeus Ti ones for a more lightweight frameset project.

This is how this project went....

The rear guar was damaged and I had to cut it in to a mini mudguard, and Campy crankset was fitted on to a Miche sealed BB!

Its becoming a lovely ride, this bike.

Your improvements are spot on really looks better now, well done. I think I'd have to lose the guards (fenders) entirely though....

Yeah, I totaly agree, the fenders are surely the least convincing part of the build but she is being used as my winter commuter and at least the front is making a big difference when riding in the rain...

I am making efforts to procure an identical or a replacement set at a good price but I still havent been able to find one that fully pleases me.

Universal hoods appear often on Italian ebay, although not cheap as for a piece of rubber, but anyway half price of Campagnolo, so not so bad. Your bike looks really great with chromed fork ends, stays and lugs .

^^ hope to find a pair soon... btw, just received a pair of NIB Cristophe AFA Clips that I'm going to add to the bicycle!

Had some lovely rides on her these last days and been really happy with the build as is, and the old Brooks Pro i've gotten for her from an original PX-10 is indeed prooving to be an astouding saddle to ride on for hours non stop!
