A cold, wet morning in Keswick. Kids dropped off at play group. Me and the Wife go for a spin round the lake to loosen the legs for her first 'cross race this weekend.

Breakfast missed, so a cafe stop for a healthy brekkie. Got talking to the owner (turns out we have lots of mutual friends). He has a look at My bike (Empella Bonfire) and the Wife's (BRIGHT pink Planet X). Conversation turns to bikes. He recently acquired a bike from a skip in Keswick which he is over the moon with. He has an old road bike that is now sitting rotting in his container. I express an interest. He lets me pick it up later in the day - I'm quite happy...

Yeah, maybe. Bit of a random mish-mash of kit:

Longsia? levers;
Exage Action rear;
3t bars and stem;
Campag pedals/front mech/super record headset/1 brake lever;
Stronglight driveside/600 'arabesque' other;
Weinmann 605/505 calipers;
Stronglight seatpin;
Suntour/Campag/? tub wheels

Frame is straight and ding free. Wear and tear for the age. I reckon early 80s.

Main problem is a seized stem. Wedge is clear, but I guess it's stuck to the inner of the forks. It's had a sprinkling of GT85 and some force. Will play again when I have time tomorrow hopefully.
