Hi,
i unearthed on the bay a £56 steal - a 1984 531c Raleigh Gran course frame and forks with Mavic G40 grey rims (true) on specialized hubs, shimano 600 crank & headset, campagnolo front and rear derailleurs, shifters and pedals, cinelli bars and stem amongst other things.. Now here's the dilemma.. It is quite scabby but would probably polish up ok with a bit of effort and tin foil to lose the rust whilst retaining an honest patina befitting it's vintage. It all works though and the tyres are modern but good - what do I do with it? do I restore, ride as is - warts and all, or keep the best bits and move the rest on? dunno - I have another Gran course in better condition in the shed...
