Shed Find!

Story: I've been collecting bikes for a couple of years now, but never had
a 'proper' shed find until this weekend. We went to stay at a holiday home
in the Ardennes owned by some people we know. I went for a poke round in the cellar, and this was what I found, under the usual grease and cobwebs.

A nervous phone call to the owners of the house revealed that it was bought among a load of other bikes in an attempt to get his kids interested in cycling, but they never used them, so it was for sale. €75 changed hands, and now I have a proper Colnago in my fleet. I will clean it up and hopefully ride it in the Retro RVV and maybe even l'Eroica.

The bicycle comes from Georges Pintens' shop in Antwerp. Pintens was an ex-pro who had a shop, but there is no sign of it anymore.

As you can see below, the mix of components is slightly odd, but good. The pedals look like track pedals.
The geometry of the frame is also strange: a 53cm seat tube, but a very high BB (28 cm), so the frame actually just about fits me. Maybe the geometry is suited for riding criteriums? Any thoughts?
Oh, and does anyone recognise the stickers on the rims from the photos?

Year: Not sure. RD is Pat 70, cranks seem to be '76, and there seems to be '72 stamped on the BB shell.

Any suggestions on a more precise age, or on the geometry, or anything else, welcome.

The only shed find I ever had was a pile of crap and the guy thought it was worth a fortune

WOO HOO! for you. My goodness that is an amazing find, I have got to look into some more sheds I guess.

Thanks for the replies. Already started on cleaning it up, and most
of the parts have come up pretty nicely so far.

Missed the registration for this year's Eroica, so it will have to be next
year, hopefully.

I am getting married in July next year, and am going to try to convince
people to ride the Retro RVV as a sort of Stag do, using some of the bikes
from my collection. Beats getting p1ssed in Prague, I reckon
