Interesting that you think this is from 1982. It looks like there's no chainstay bridge. Shouldn't it have a spool-shaped chainstay bridge? Weren't the bridgeless chainstays only later?

I think it's '82 as the guy I got it off is a reasonably big collector, and hollow chanin stay caps were pre '82, I believe the nuovo mexico was '82 also

also has profiled top tube and down tube,
if it isn't a nouvo ,exico, I'd be interested to know what it is or when it's from

pretty sure it's mid-80s.
