Klein Adept Hybrid 1994 Horizon Linear Fade

I have just finished building this Klein frame with a mostly black component set. I am happy with the build now and the bike will see service in long country lane and xc rides. The ride is good, very stable and the drop bars work well with it, and in my opinion looks better than the flat bar MC1 (which was too long at 150mm and too high a rise for me anyway). This is the largest size Adept frame, the top tube length is almost 24", so pretty long, about the same length as a large size mtb.

Very original but is the toptube not very much too long as the geometrie is originally made for a straight MC1 bar/stem??

And i really like the cnc brakes ;) Will they be or are they for sale ?

This is a pic of what I think is the same bike before the respray and dent repair to the top tube.

I think the top tube is long as it is intended to be a stable 'touring' style bike rather that cyclocross racing specific. There are pannier mounting points on the rear stays and the fork, so I guess a stable geometry was a priority. I will be test riding again later in the week!

I will keep making the brakes, I will re-visit a lower profile design next that will work well with my Paul levers on another bike. The brake cable yokes/carriers are a bit easier to make in a reasonable quantity and time, but the brakes take ages! I feel the need to get some anodised in Purple....
