Got this frame from a fellow YACf member, it spent a few months with another forumite in Manchester who then sold it on to me.

Built up with cheap-ass wheels (to be replaced when I replace the Ultegra 6600 on my Ridley), Ultegra 6500 STIs, front and rear mech. In the picture it has a 105 compact chainset, this has been replaced with a 105 triple.

I love this bike, it is one of those bikes which cannot be ridden slowly, it demands to be ridden FAST!

Avanti

Nice frame; I used to have one in red in roughly that size. Mine was Reynolds 501; is yours? Got my frame in 1986, IIRC, but can't now remember if it was new or not. I think they started making them in 1985; don't know when they stopped.

Rk.

Sorry, your point is? The 1982 model used 531, later models used 501.

I don't believe I mentioned where it used it, TBH nor do I care. It made it easier to date and it is still a lovely bike to ride, whether it is made from 501, 531 or elephant dung :)
