Carlton Corsa shed find

After many discussions with a local service station owner (old school family owned garage) i went to see this carlton.
He brought it new around 1979,did a sponsored cycle from swindon to the south coast and back, then used it for a year or so and retired it to the shed
Well it turns out he liked my enthusiasm, and has generously placed it in my caring hands,on the promise i dont sell it!

Do itreat it like my others? a bloody good clean and a grease up
or do i ruin it with a full respray restoration

I think i should leave be,but replace original parts :D

Lets wait for Spokesman but we sold the Carlton Corsa where I worked at a LBS but it was on it's last legs in the mid 70's and not sure if it was sold in 1979... Green, blue or orange all in metallic IIRC.

Cottered cranks and centre pull brakes :) formed the basis of my first real bike the Carlton Cobra which was fully chromed :)

Nice find :D

I just found. 76 stamped on the handlebars and seat , there is a link somewhere
On dating frame numbers

Love to see the images, I thought the Corsa name had been dropped by 79, then again it could be old stock or SH!
