That looks "just right". Outdoors pictures please? And a shot of the wraparound seatstay detail would be something I'm particularly interested in.

Cheers!

A few changes have been made over the last months:-

The frame is now 'de-stickered' so only has the original BR and Reynolds decals,
Bottle cages are silver alloy Nagaoka,
Friction levers have been replaced with a set of 7 speed Record Synchros,
Chainset is now a 2nd generation Record 175mm 52/39,
Freewheel is now 13-23 to help on the hills,
Tyres are Vittoria Rubino Pro Slick.

Very nice and love the personal history.

I have a 653 frame that I shall be building as my winter steel bike and a much newer 853 I use mostly for sportives and longer rides.

I love Reynolds 653 tubing - and yours is no exception! I have 2x Ribble 653, 1x Peugeot Z team and a Dawes hybrid 653 frames myself.

That is a super frame with a lovely choice of components – in lovely condition, too. It is great to hear how it has been owned by you since the 80s, and see the changes that have been made.

Fantastic looking bike and even better it's been yours for all this time.

I have a Bianchi that came into my life 29 years ago. Not currently fully built as I've borrowed bits off it, but it will be soon.

I'm another big fan of 653...great framesets that love to fly.
