Nice bike - I love the GT road bikes of this era. Nice to see one in a normal size too, the ones I've seen recently are 60cm gates, which doesn't seem to suit the style of the frame.

Thanks for the comments.....

Ok....after much persistence, I managed to get the bottom bracket out and swap it over for the correct square tapered one and 600 cranks....

Changed over the saddle to the tri-matic and changed over the wheelset to some Arayas with yellow trim tyres.....

Also changed the stem over to a Ritchey and changed the bartape to all black....

Will stick with the Ultegra 600 groupset on this one.....

That looks good. As big a fan as I am of the Hollowtech2 chainsets, I think this had to have an more age correct groupset, and the Shimano 600 suits it down to the ground!

Nice bike, it seems a popular colour for Reynolds 853, they ride very nicely.
