I wonder if it has been resprayed and all new decals added? , maybe its the photo but it looks like red paint on the rear tyre just near the chainset , it is a smallish photo so it could be a shadow or maybe my ageing eyes? Peugeot were still spewing out that HLE frame until the early 90`s so it appears you have a 1990 bike but no idea as to its older decals if it is original finish...

Bit of a puzzle. The paint / decals mid- '80s, succeeded by similar style but without the chequerboard on the lower down tube - broadly the difference between my '87 753 and '88 531 Pro, with serial number beginning B 806 .., which I always understood meant built 6th month of 1988.

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the frame numbers starting with a Y like my 1987 Premiere is and those starting with a letter B?

That looks to be 1986 or later. Your hubs will have dates on.

Gaspipe tubing sold by the squillion but pleasant enough to ride.
