Hand built in England - Raleigh

First ride out since resto (inspired by many on this site) and rebuild of my old Raleigh, not purist correct by any means but this is my favorite bike to ride by a long way. Running mostly Shimano 600 Tri-colour, with Mavic open 4 Cd wheels on tricolour hubs. It's an 8 speed and works perfectly.
The saddle is comfy and was a temp fix...but I now think it will stay...
The bar tape needs sorting and need to find a 600 stem.

Will probably use this bike for tour round the Highlands and Islands this summer, my modern bikes seem really harsh to ride now compared to this.

Cheers for lookin

Very nice. Is it the original colour? If not it must be very close. I remember that the Raleigh silver/blue of the early 80's had a really expensive look to it.

Thanks for the comments.

@peetee it was silver and blue, at repsray time I decided to just go with the silver, was a little worried it might look a bit boring but I think looks just right somehow.

On the look out for some better bars and a 600 tricolour stem to finish it off.

Cheers

Lovely! Bet the frame was made in Worksop ?

Don't the embossed seatstays mark this out as a later frame made in the Nottingham lightweight unit? The embossed stays were from the bikes/frames that had 3 main tubes, plus sometimes the fork in 531 such as Quadra, Triathlon, Ritm, Elix and Strada. The complete 531 frames had plain seatstays.

Certainly looks very classy in silver.
It looks and sounds like a good componenet choice as it is.
Enjoy!
