Identify this Colnago

Re:

I'd second Canuk's guess. The rear mech cable guides under the bottom bracket and cable stop under the chainstay could have been added when the frame was resprayed.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the messages - I think the consensus is a late 1970's 'Super', that has had some adjustments to the gear cable routings and had an 80/90's respray.

Am taking to get it shot blasted and resprayed soon. The shot blasting should reveal the truth behind any frame adjustments.

Thanks again for everyone's thoughts.

More soon...

Re:

Ok - identity confirmed 100% - Colnago Super, Year probably 1979/80.

The shot blasting revealed traces of the original gear cable route braze-ons on top of the Bottom Bracket, which had been filed off. The modified 'under Bottom Bracket' cable routers were soldered in place with a silver based solder.

Next steps. Replace braze-on gear cable routings. Respray as a deep and silvery Colnago green, line the lugs with a gold paint, decorate with era correct decals.

Oh - then the small issue of components - Campagnolo, Super Record...
