My 1966 Claud Butler Velo Valentino

Just purchased this Claud Butler and I am really pleased with it seems like a quality bike with nice components. I have attached some pictures below, would love to know what you lot think of it too? Also a couple of questions...
1. Would you try to restore the paint work or have it resprayed?
2. What is the best product for removing that from the components?
P.s sorry for the bad quality pictures, it was the best I could do haha

Its hard to tell paint condition from photos, If it were mine I would keep the original paint, and find your favorite Brooks saddle for it. :D

Metal polish & allot of this looks like it will polish up very well

Well as far as I know the brakes are original or at least I think they are, I found the original catalogue online and it says it should have Weinmann 999's which it still does so that would be 1966! Thanks for the tips lads. The only bit that annoys me is the paint has started to come off along the top bar:(

This is a picture of the tatty paint also, seems a shame to Respray just for this?
