Ex Michael's Jackson/Raleigh, re-listed

Re:

I received an email from Jackson Cycles today.

They told me that it was not one of theirs. :(

They did not recognize the frame number, WG6000143, suggesting it may be a Raleigh.

What do you folk think? Familiar number sequence?

Not happy

Re: Michael's Non-Jackson

Is the W for Worksop or something? I had this with a 'Dave Lloyd' that went back.

Re: Michael's Non-Jackson

Yep the W is for Worksop , Raleigh nicked the W when Carlton closed.....

Thanks Shaun ;)

I think

Now to determine which one from the brochure

Before I consider returning it

Re: Michael's Non-Jackson

It looks like a Gran Sport with the chrome forks but the amount of chrome on the rear is odd.... Going to have a think.

Waiting with baited breath. And a cuppa ;)

Re: Michael's Non-Jackson

Just noticed it's got internal rear brake cable routing.........., is that heat damage to the rear non drive side dropout?

I wonder if Bob Jackson has altered and refinished an 8803 race frame or similar?

Hopefully bedraggled/ originalshinkicker etc can help :)

Re:

BJ didn't mention a refinish, but that is what I suspect.

Frame weight is 1700g, forks 635g.

Has Campag drop outs on the rear end, nothing on the front ones though.
Yes, it does have heat damage to the nds drop out, as stated in the ad, along with internal rear brake cable routing

I may pm one of those members you mention, thank you ;)
