Buyers beware: bought the Shimano 600 pedals, one is gunked up and incredibly stiff, the other loose and rough. Pretty immediately apparent to anyone let alone a seller of his frequency.

Cipollini's response is that I can send them back at my own expense, too busy to apologise apparently.

My own mistake for paying Gift as requested by seller-I can see why he would insist on this if this is his modus operandi which is surprising considering his post count but I'd recommend others buy elsewhere.

I bought the 105 caliper from Malc. He received the grand sum of £1.10 for his trouble.

I anticipate that used items approaching 30 years old may require a rebuild to get them back to their best. I quite enjoy that part of the hobby, personally.

Stating that the pedals required a rebuild would have been helpful, obviously, but a strip down and regrease would get them running nicely again.

Thanks for your comment traIl blazer
I've been buying and selling on this forum for many years.
You will not get perfect bike stuff on here unless your prepared to pay a premium.
I've always purchased items here with the expectancy of some stripping/cleaning and greasing to bring them back to near perfect condition.
Otherwise I would suggest buying N.O.S

Apologies again to griggsy

Malc

You're right, describing their condition accurately would be good practice-it's just basic honesty-and you're assuming that the bearings and races can be replaced which in this case I doubt. Can you source replacement shimano 600 axles? I'm not against repacking grease if it's required but I'd expect that to have been flagged in the first instance.

The real problem is that these were sold and put in the envelope when clearly in poor state and when pointed out the response was one sentence telling me to send them back 'if I like.'

Up to you if you think this is good form or acceptable, I'm just relating to you how it's panned out.
