Built for my Alan CX (also for sale by the way) from a used but good condition Campagnolo front hub (unsure of model) and a used Veloce rear, full set of new sealed bearings when into the rear including 2 sets in the freehub. Built with (formerly) NOS Ritchey Vantage Comp Road hard ano rims and Sapim DB spokes by an experienced wheelbuilder. Also includes a pair of Record QR skewers. Not ridden since being built, roll very well and are obviously true and taut.

100mm front, 130mm rear, both 36 hole.

Re: Campagnolo 8 speed wheelset with new Ritchey rims

Happy to swap/part ex for a number of parts I need for a build if you have anything:

Decent pair of 27 1 1/4 alloy rims or wheels laced to Campagnolo hubs - 32 or 36 hole.
Randonneur style (flared) drop bar, pref Nitto, 38cm width.
Campagnolo non-aero brake levers with good hoods from the mid 80s.

Re:

Sorry Mate, but THIS will take 9-10-11 speed cassettes, and even 8speed ones, albeit with the appropriate lockirng...

http://branfordbike.com/articles/casset ... s-pg60.htm

uses different lockring though than current 10speed hubs. :)

29mm - 8 speed
26mm - 9 speed 1997-1999 except 1999 Chorus/Record rear hubs with oversized axles
27mm - other 9/10 speed

It's common practice to include the 26mm lockrings with the hub, as nowadays that sucker is almost unobtainable.

btw, 8speed blocks fit nicely on current 10-11speed hubs as well, just make sure you apply adequate torque to the lockring to hold the cassette tightly!

Re: Campagnolo 8 speed wheelset with new Ritchey rims

Good stuff, thanks - I have a selection of lock rings, the one you refer to is the deeper one right?

Ta.

Re: Campagnolo 8 speed wheelset with new Ritchey rims

The one that fits :) seriously, there's only the 26mm lockring which will fit onto this. When there'll be someone to grab these, just make sure you also fit the lockring into the wheelset before packing it up for shipping :)

I hope that it'll sell, esp. after it turned out that it is a very versatile set, accomodating both 8spd and ö-10-11speed cassttes as well.
