Richard have you got the rings from your 600AX chainset? The chain pip looks to be in the wrong place on the DA above.

Personally I like DA better than the 600AX which has that painted finish which gets tatty in time.

Re. the pip - chainrings are not attached to cranks and i have a NOS big ring in the garage! EDIT - the pip is screwed on and can be used either side!

I may have great need for DA stuff now!!!!

just out of interest everyone, didn't someone make a 9/16" adaptor so you could fit normal pedals with these cranks? i can't remember who...

Shimano made the adaptor/converter. I presume you have none lying around, unused, needing a new home?

lol no sadly not!! i'm just testing my fading memory! we used to sell the 600AX chainset in the bike shop around the time of the raleigh road ace - i'm sure that shimano had adaptors like you said.

i'm not as senile as i thought!!
