Hill Special frame

Geoff Capes
Hi all,

1. Hills Special Super Club 1946. 52cm seat tube, 54cm top tube. Built for 26 x 1 1/4 in wheels. This is the tatty bike. At some point in its long life it has been copper plated! I had it powdercoated over the top (in orange) and my wife lined the lugs in white. The main problem with the bike is that I could only source 26 x 1 3/8 rims and tyres. The flex in the frame when going up hill causes these tyres to rub on the chainstay and so I retired it before any damage was done. Brampton style headset fitted, requires a regrease but has bearings. Picture of it built up here:

but only the frame is for sale. I still have the Sun CR18 26 x 1 3/8 alloy rims but don't neccessarily recommend their use.

Now on ebay with a postage option:

Re: Carlton, Ron Kitching Frames, 2 pairs of wheels

A timely bump! Hill Special is still available! I have a 26.8 seat post for it as well. (I actually think I've got a choice of them, to be honest).
Campag / Zeus wheels still available as well.
