I bought this bike off a friend a couple of years ago, where it had spent its entire life in the back of his garage. I don’t think it had ever been used as there wasn’t a scratch on the drivetrain or any wear on the brakes. Since then I have used it to commute to work and for leisure where it has picked up a few scratches on the way.
I’m a bit sorry to have to pass it on but having changed jobs and now having to commute along a canal, it is no longer suitable and I’m already collecting too many bikes!
It has its original spec and is as follows
Frame – 60 cm Chromemolyboen 4130, Suitable for someone around 6ft tall.
Gears – 14 speed indexed, Sach Huret front and rear derailleurs
Brakes – Omega CLB callipers still with the original brake blocks!
Wheel hubs – Sachs Maillard
Rims – 700C Unknown brand
Tyres – Continental Gator Hardshell 23mm. These are only a year old and in great condition, there the biggest tyre I could fit to the frame.
Seat – Selle Royal
Pedals – I don’t have the original pedals but can fit some basic pedals to it if desired.
There are a few scratches, particularly on the stem from standing it on its handle bars, the saddle has some scuffs on the top and the cranks have worn against my shoes. However I have just given the bike a strip down, service and rebuild, all bearings are freshly greased and it’s running a treat.
