This is a real longshot but I have a 1953 Bates BAR frame and forks which is 23" top tube centres and 23" seat tube centre to top.
This is too big for me and I would be interested in swapping for a similar/identical specification frame but with a shorter seat tube 21" or 21.5" centre to top.
The condition is perfectly original with all transfers legible but with faded paint and poor chrome on front and rear ends. Obviously I would be prepared to pay additional funds if the frame I was offered had been restored.
This frame is not for sale; I am only interested in a swap as I have always wanted a Bates and not prepared to loose the one I have unless it is replaced by another.
Thanks, Nick.

Good luck! People rode much larger frames then - generally around 2" bigger, so a 21" really is on the tiny side.
