*SOLD*Raleigh Race 8803 Lightweight 531c Frame SOLD

Hi All,

I have for sale a 1988 Raleigh Race 8803 Frame, 57cm x 57cm.

According to the catalogue it should have 531C Main Triangle, with 531 Pro Stays and Fork Blades.

This is from the Handbuilt Lightweights range, as opposed to the main catalogue, so I think would have built to order.

It's in very nice condition, I think original paint, although the main 'Raleigh' decals are repro, all straight no dents, only the odd little mark and chip here and there and a small tyre rub inside the chainstay, I would say it's a solid 8-9/10.

Chromed Campagnolo dropouts and Prugnat S4 cut out lugs.

126mm rear and 100mm front spacing.

Looking for *NOW SOLD* but open to sensible offers.

Let me know if you want any more details.

Re: Raleigh Race 8803 Lightweight 531c Frame For Sale

If it has 531 pro forks and stays shouldn’t it be a 8802 531c luxe?

Re: Raleigh Race 8803 Lightweight 531c Frame For Sale

It's missing the GOD sticker, been refinished at some point me thinks. No, the paint does look original, I wonder where the missing sticker went

Reading the text Shaun, it says fork and ends are as Luxe model which I have never noticed before, but nothing about the rear triangle which I assume is 531c otherwise there's only the BB to differentiate the 8802 and 8803

Re:

The catalogue description says the 8803 frame is the same as the luxe apart from the fork crown, lugs and bottom bracket, and the description for the Luxe frame states: ‘The forks are from the 531 Pro set, as are the back stays.’

Happy to amend my original description if you think this is incorrect?

Re:

I had the 8802 and it was probably the best race frame I owned, and that includes numerous custom made frames, a colnago master and a mexico. I managed to achieve sub 20lbs bike with mid range componentry

Just one point of correction - nothing in that brochure was made to order, they were all hanging ready to purchase from any Raleigh dealer
