In fact josh did not have to do the test simple physics tells us that tie and solder does not what ot says on the tin. Wheel stiffness and load bearing capasity is determined by spoke bracing angles, spoke guage, spoke length, crossing, spoke count and rim properties (stiffness).

To believe otherwise is to beleive physics is wrong in which case the bicycle would not work but it does so physics must be right.

True, but it looks cool and can stop a broken spoke getting loose and jammed in something
