After many years in the Retrobike wilderness I have finally decided to "go modern" with a build. :D

In my decision to go modern I decided to go full full squish as well.

I took a lot of time reading up about various bikes, frames etc and decided to go with a frame that had very few write ups but a good name behind the brand.

Another Joe designed bike for the stable!

So here be it.......

A Voodoo Cycles Canzo

130mm travel
7005 frame with Scandium top tube

I hope to have her built up soon

Any thoughts/suggestions on build?

***Update***

Just two mid build pictures so far (and crappy cellar ones for that matter  )

Ploughing ahead with the build.

Idea is to have a sub 30lb bike that I can ride all day and that I can through around a bit.

Bike has been built up from parts I already had (excluding frame)

What do you think so far?

Hi Josh,

I actually have the vast majority of parts.

It will be a 2 x 9 build using SRAM X9 and a Deore chainset, Thomson stem and post, FSA Bars etc.

Just need some longer forks as my spare forks are only 100mm

Price paid......secret ;)

As for build style I have Jo Murray to thank for the design

is joe murray the hall of fame joe murray? what travel forks are you going for? 120mm? who is joe murray? did you steal the frame from him? it has his name on it!

Yes its the same Joe Murray he also set up some bike firm called Kona ...

I do the Voodoo also

I've got the Ogun (albeit with a ghetto paint job, still  )

XT/XTR build, Hope Bulbs on D521/321's, Marzochhi Drop-Off single crown 6" forks, etc

Great looking frame.

You could get some Rock Shox Recons painted retro Judy yellow like the ones on the MBUK Zaskar 20th anniversary build.
They would look great with the black Thomson stem.
