So do I split or flip or service it, stick a silly stem on it and look like a freak?

I stuck a BMX stem and bars on one way too small retro bike. It was a ton of fun and saved my back!

Only you can answer that. Split and flip is the sensible option. I just had a similar quandary with a grotty, incomplete, too big Raleigh peak. Decided to renovate it.

At least with something of this age a service should be straight forward. One decider is to check the chain for wear. Good indicator of how involved a “service” will be...

Longest stem. Longest post at350. Needs a 400. Still too small but remarkably everything else works as it should.

Yep too small. Anybody want it? £75 plus post without pedals. With the original specialised post and stem. Cheap as chips!
