This appeared in my 'Twin Trailstars' thread a couple years ago. I sold my mint MK2 Trailstar frame a while ago, I still have my Mk1 Tank. I think I prefer my Rhythm to my Trailstar so I'm hoping this will be as much fun and almost as 'light' as the Rhythm. Shorter rear at 408mm than Trailstar, more relaxed 69 deg head, lighter at 6lb too, and bigger wheels than the Rhythm. And then Gears which neither TS or Rhythm has! Oh and it's better looking!

It was going to be a cheap 8 speed, parts bin 4x inspired bike to hit local woods with and the streets, but as usual after years of collating it's ended up with many posh new bits and ultimately is a bit too nice for the local scroats.
It's now 9 speed 35 x 11-32 with chain device. This won't be quite as restrictive as a 4x bike and more like a little trail bike. As usual it's still technically too small, so will be interesting now I have a bike that fits in the stable. I want it to be lightis but was shocked when i weighted a DMR Moto at 930g! So the street style folding Supermoto's may go on instead, suggestions welcome. I'm also trying to bleed brakes to go on it.
Here's the kit pics, it'll be built up as soon as I get time!

If you can veer away from DMR then Schwalbe tabletops are nice. Quite thin sidewalls though.

I keep seeing those. A few reviews reckon they pop open but never know really how people treat them. The Supermoto are great and live on a retro currently as they're amber wall but there's no knobbles on them. Might try them for now though. The 930g Moto seems excessive even if they are great tyres! The old digger on the front weighs in at about 840g. Add inner tubes and 2lb of rubber each end! Haha

Re:

OK so it's finished... for now. I just wanted it built - this year.
I'm happy with spec mostly. Went with Table Top tyres thanks to Steve, but also a good deal at CRC for folders. I've swapped bars for Answer AM 720 wide in White and 50mm rise. They should give me height up front and allow the removal of a spacer. They go nicely with the Answer Forks.
I had a quick shake down and first impressions are good, though I am wondering what it's role is in the fleet now, being tall and mature with a small frame! seat post will go up a little. It is nippy though and seems easy to hop etc feels more fun than the Trailstar.
Pondering getting a road cassette after all now to shorten gaps between gears.
Have a look if you can see pics.
