The build has begun

Here is my new Reynolds 853 29er in the early stages of construction.
It is being built by my buddy Pat Banks at Limit Fabrications here in Norwich.

It will have a Lefty fork, Shimano Alfine 8 rear hub with Middleburn cranks.
The dropouts are Paragon Machine Works adjustable dropouts to allow me to use the Alfine hub without a tensioner.

It is being welded fully this coming week and will be ridden in it's first event on the 6th September, then used for everything from XC races to 70 mile Sunday rides.

To say I am excited is an understatement.

Re:

Registering interest for this.

I've tried contacting Pat a few times about a frame but not heard anything back. How does he prefer contact if that's not a strange question?

I'm just over the border so could pop in :)

Re:

Thanks for the interest guys.

Yes Mark, The Shouldham Enduro will be it's first race outing, even though it might not be painted by then, so I will build it then take it apart after to be sent for paint.
I always contact Pat via Facebook.

Coomber, I will post more pics. when I have them.

This is to replace my 2013 Cannondale Flash alloy which died very quickly due to it being shockingly poor quality, the Lefty being the only remaining original part. Going with the hub gear as I am fed up of replacing chains, jockey wheels etc. plus I like the clean, simple look of a single speed but have found it to be too limiting when racing, so a few gears will be welcome.

Re:

If you are riding the enduro Mark,it would be good to meet. Always good to know other people who race locally. :D

Re:

Some updates today. I am hoping it will be finished this week.

Without sounding like I'm putting it down, is that not a bit tight to the chain stays? What size tyre is that? I'd like a bit more for mud / slight out of true wobbles.
