Retro Newbie
Hello,

There are three years I have bought an old 1999 Specialized Ground Control.
it was hanging in my basement waiting to be restarted.

Having a little time to devote I set myself a budget: € 250 (I had no idea how much money was ridiculous).
So I started looking for used parts. That gave the result below.
Total budget (including bike prices : 400 €).

I was very surprised by the rigidity of the assembly
The behavior is homogeneous, and very nervous, despite the big direction angle.

It is not perfect, certainly, but at that price ...

a picture of the adapter for disc brakes.

In the end it works well and for the moment I did not detect any weakness in the frame.

You won't, until you are sliding along the road on your face.

Not significantly stronger than any other 16 year old welded aluminum frame......

I'd be checking for cracks after every ride!
