bought this from Stinus half a year ago.. thanks man.. this is my most beloved now and I've actually come to like the big bird yellow (not color true these pictures I must ad).. and the silent clutch lx rear hub, mmm..! I do ride it pretty much every day.. it's a great all rounder for my purposes.. even bring it when I go looking for crayfish, otter and pearl mussels obviously :)

I will change some parts soon.. them fragile kooka levers don't belong in public bike parking stands.. mean I would smash them if I saw a pair :D haha
Anyone got experience of titanium square tapered bottom bracket on a single speed bike..? is that to optimistic..? even if this lovely solitare is fairly light, I have another weenie ss coming up.. even if I'm quite light myself I hesitate when it comes to the bb, ti or steel..? I have never broken a ti on my geared bikes, but singelspeed??

Frame Dekerf Solitare (99-00 something)
Fork Kinesis maxlight 400.. should I use longer a-c..?
headset Mortop 65, stem syntace f99 105mm
bar kcnc bone flat with kcnc 'gold' grips (they are yellow)
kcnc seatpost and selle italia slr fire saddle
wheels are mavic 517 ceramic, revolution spokes
and tune mig 70 hub front, shimano lx silent clutch rear
continetal twister supersonic tires and tubes
precision brakes with kooka levers
tune big foot cranks with kcnc knife pedals and salsa 32t ring
cog I'm using a gusset I think, 16t, gives me a ratio I like
bottom bracket is steel from what I can tell

peace

That looks very nice! The forks look a good length to me.
I have titanium bottom brackets on both my singlespeed bikes and I haven't had any problems yet.

many thanks for that info.. ti bb it is :)
because I like this frame so much I'm on my way ordering a tuning fork, but those have longer a-c from what I've understood.. 450mm? but i'm thinking the dekerf staff won't mind doing a fork for me with shorter a-c right?

I'm not sure. From their website it looks like they only make them in 2 lengths, one equivalent to an 80mm suspension fork and the other a 29er fork. You would have to ask them, but 450mm sounds long. Maybe that is the 29er length?

Edit: I have no knowledge about 29ers, but after a quick search, 29er forks will be longer than 450mm if suspension corrected.

There's a tuning fork for sale here somewhere I think, but for disc brake.. it's for 26" wheels alright and has 450mm a-c.. must be the 80mm corrected fork that is 450mm..!? anyone know? I know Dekerf does custom frames, so why not forks as well I'm asking myself :) I have no experience from 29ers either, but an additional 1,5" to an 80mm travel fork or equal rigid should make an a-c close to 500mm.. or? :p

All Tuning forks are custom made...each made to order by Chris I believe. Mine are 450. Personally I think your Max forks look a little short. Email Chris and see what he says?
