kona AA with rigid fork

Lost this lovely thing, head tube fracture.

Rode it over 60.000 km on & off road.

It was a 19" Kona AA Easton Elite frame with project 2 fork.

Weight of these frames was was precious little, just 3.4 lbs. for an 18"er.

I am left with a bucket full of mainly xt bits, a fork and two good wheels.

Does anyone have a frame that would suite me?

18" might be ok as well, also would consider complete bike.

First foto was taken on my last ride,
without bike for nearly 4 weeks and seriously missing it.

There's a 19" 95/96 frame on eBay at the moment for £50

since my frame broke
I am for the first time trying to buy things on ebay
and it is a nightmare.

it is also for the first time that I joined a forum

Have you any pictures of the damaged headtube? Lovely bike you had

well ok., it was a '97 model,
so why am I listing it here?

simple:

I like hard tails
I don't like suspension forks
I don't like disk brakes
I don't like carbon.

So on the whole, I am happier
in this corner of the forum.

I managed to get another AA frame
which is one or two years older
so I suppose the bike now will fit here.

I will pick the frame up when I am back in uk
in about three weeks.

Older AA frame is not a bad thing
but I thing they used a different tubing
so bye bye to the nice Easton Elite tubes
and hello to half a pound more weight.

I have attached a photo of the broken head tube,
if any one knows a welder in Spain
who has real experience in fixing frames,
please let me know.

I spoke to a specialised welder in Germany,
they say it is possible to fix it,
needs tig welding
and than they need to renew
the seat of the bearing cup and things like that,
so its not any welders job.
