Retro Newbie
Hi,

I have a rigid 1998 Orange Clockwork. It's well used and needs quite a lot of work doing to it (the drivetrain needs replacing and new wheels, pedals & saddle).

But the frame is still sound and in good condition.

Unfortunately although I love this bike, I don't have the knowledge or time to do this myself.

I suppose I have a couple of options - sell it or pay someone to fix it.
If I were to sell it what approximate price could I get for it?
How much would I expect to pay for getting someone to fix it (I could sort out the saddle/ pedals myself & probably the wheels)

If you are willing to learn, I'd expect a local RBer may help? Sounds like a bike worth doing. May others of course would buy a similar newer bike in steel , say a new P7 or Genesis etc, or something fancy in alloy. This works for them, and you could sell yours n her eor ebay, but if money is tight or you want to recycle and get a good sense of achievement then great to get it fixed up. we use it as an excuse to pimp it out a bit! :D
Post a picture or series of broken bits up and we can guide you through it.
FWIW shops such as Edinburgh Cycles do a maintainance course, though you'd need to get some tools. Also some shops can be fairly friendly and do odd one off specialist tool jobs free if its 2 minutes job.
list up the bits you think need replacing. :)
