Hi all,

I just finished my first build, an Isaac Impact 2010, now I know this is retro biker and there are some retro bits on it, but also some new parts too.

Took it out for the first time today in the snow and mud and was really impressed .

build list
Frame: 2010 Isaac Impact
Forks: Pace RC36 Evo
Brakes: XTR V brakes and leavers
Cables: Yellow Jagwire, soon to be red
Bars: Giant racing carbon bar
Stem: Thomson Elite
Headset: FSA Orbit
Seatpost: Thomson Elite
Seat: Flite Titanium
Cranks: Kooka with Middleburn and Kooka rings
BB: shimano Square taper, soon to me a white industries titanium number
Rear mech: XTR
Front Mech XT
Cassette: Sram 7 speed
Shifters: STX rapid fire plus
Wheels: Mavic x618 with DT swiss black spokes on Hope XC hubs
Tyres: Rocket Rons

Plus lost of red anodized bolts
Weight 10.5kg or 23 and a bit Lbs

Lots changes to my bike over the last few months, :D

I decided to give in to modern technology and step away from the retro parts, it pains me to say it but it rides so much better now. turns out the pace forks were goosed anyway.

build list

Bars: USE carbon risers 660mm

Cranks: FSA K-Force light double, 30, 42
Shimano M540 SPD's
BB: FSA ceramic
Rear mech: XTR

Yup, I agree, I think an old frame works with new parts, but a new frame with old parts doesn't work so well.

That does look better now.

The old Pace forks looked too short, giving you a crazy steep head angle. I like old stuff, but I've got to say that some of the modern stuff does work better.

Cheers min, it's a little known fact that Isaac cycles was founded in the UK in 2001, the bikes were manufactured in Germany but the HQ was retained here. It's be cracking building it and even more fun riding it.
