more bits, love the octane bars, had them on my last couple of bikes, light and strong. but made a school boy error ordered a 25.4 bar and a 31.8 stem, will order some shims to make fit

send it back and order the correct sized part ;) - I do not like shimming of undersized components, especially if correct sized one is available.

alternatively replace stem for 25.4 clamp - a smaller choice than for O/S but yes, they are availalabablle.

IMO you need to get rid of the red stuff if you are going for a blue theme.

yeah man, have got a shim some where in the workshop so will try that first, if it feels rubbish then will sort out returning the bar.

yes the pedals are going as using the spd's

so finished customers cars and so got some time inbetween office knocking down and clearing out rubbish

fitted the new bits, liked the shorted stem wider handlebars for quick downhill off the farm, went back and fitted my hope caliper, but 2 things

1. the wheel doesnt spin due to it hitting the caliper (awating another front rim, with disc/hub on it)
2. the pipe is far to long, im assuming that i can cut it and re-attach the ends? or may just replace it with new, any suggestions on what to use?

If you want a disc on the back have a chat with specialised. I had one like this (might have been year later) and I swapped the chainstay arm with a newer one which had disc mounts, it also had bearings rather than bushings which made it much more supple. Specialized should be able to advise what will fit (think I just emailed them). Was a great fun bike t ride though :)

have fitted and bled out my new hope front brake, fitted with a 185mm rota

flipped the rear shock as i couldnt get to the adjuster.

so i thought i would get my front shock serviced as there was movement in the stanctions, was recommended a guy on pink bike to service them and honestly hes been great, and couldnt recommend him enough

here is some pictures of the story

if these fit, then i will grab these? what do you guys recon?

Re: 1998 Specialized FSR (little update 4 and oh no....)

Anything that has a 1 1/8th non tapered steer tube will work. Just make sure the steer tube is long enough. I went with a newer fox float on mine, but before I found it I was looking at judy xls as well. If you like those then you should try looking around for some old marzocchi jr t's.
