Greetings all, I've almost finished building up another little alu hardtail for my friend Linda!
The brief was the (chunky) bike must have a black frame with yellow parts and purple bling bits, and hopefully about to be 3kg lighter than her current heap!
No pics as yet as I'm waiting on a bit more yellow gear cable and the pedals, so thought I'd get the spec up while I relax after building it up.
The project name comes from the fact that the new owner, Linda, is an avid Tori Amos fan, and Datura is one of her favourite Tori songs.
Frame: 1998 Scott Purgatory (stripped & powdercoated black, custom decals to follow)
Fork: RS Indy SL (touched up with new RS decals)
Headset: Colourful World of Viz cartridge (me either but it's nice)
Stem: Marin 6061 (with new stainless bolts)
Handlebar: Kalloy 6061 risers
Grips: Eastern - BMX (new)
V-Brakes: unknown yellow (with purple bolts & new noodles)
Brake Pads: Bell (new)
Brake Cables: Jagwire with yellow outers (new)
STIs: Shimano 3x7
Front Derailleur: Deore M510 (with purple bolt)
Rear Derailleur: Deore LX M560 (with purple bolt)
Derailleur Cables: Jagwire with yellow outers (new)
Cassette: SRAM 12-32
Chain: KMC (new)
Cranks: Specialized Strongarm 4-bolt
Crank Bolts: Truvativ (new)
