Not very stock any more :p most parts were worn out beyond repair.
Had to swap the front brake now that I changed the front fork too, as the IS to PM wont work with forks made for 200mm disc. so I'm running 205mm disc in front now, evo m4 special edition brake. ATA66 front fork converted to oil/springs, also boss vr adjust in the rear. XTR rapid shift rear gearchange, etc.

Thank you. I am considering powder coating or just spraying the rear frame white. It looks very nice in silver, but I reckon the white will match the front fork and the pedals, seat and grips :) Also considering removing the orange from the raceface cranks.

Before I was running on this old 2000(?) boxxer pro

but the plastic bushing in one of the steerer tubes broke, so it would lock out on hard impact. Since the paint was kindof dodgy, I polished the housing by hand.. Took some hours!!!

It looked very cool when polished.
Here you can see the plastic bushing that was broken

The metal parts are supposed to be locked in place by the plastic.

But then I put on a drop off triple, which turned out to be crap! Air shock which bottomed out very easy! Thats why I went further on to the modified 66ATA :p (factory modified). It weighs a lot more than the drop off triple and has less travel, but it's way beefier. The single crown does not seem to affect how rigid it is though.

I fit a very low stack height headset to regain some angle.

White rear sounds good. You should sell the cranks rather than stripping them though.

but then I have to buy new ones, lol... I just threw away a raceface headset :p it was HEAVY! (over 300g).

Eh youe threw it away! Crazy.
Yep but then someone misses out on orange ones, maybe you could trade for the clour you want.

yeah, but the lower bearing was ready for replacement.
Maybe one could change just the bearing... but the seat should have been changed too.. Also I guess new bearings are as good and have a lower stack height :p

I dont know if I can ship the cranks out of Norway, as we have an insanely high price for all kinds of parcels.

Oh thats not good. Not sure how many other norwegians there are on here!

Look forward to updates on this.

Do you give it a hammering? Does it take abuse ok?

yeah, I've been riding this bike since year 2000.

The bike as it is, is quite good.
I also replaced the old shimano 636 pedals (SPD) for some 520..
The 636's where also completely worn out :p in the end, even the spring for the SPD was too weak to clip properly (even when adjusted).

The new headset (directset) I really like.. It has a VERY low stack height :p
