WWEENIE AM MODERN BIKE (with retro spirit ) - FINAL PICS

CAPIN

Retro Guru
I saw this Prophet on Ebay couple months ago. Basically NOS. Good price.
Its simple. it has enough travel. it doesnt have any ugly graphics. Still quite retro to be honest :)
What i hate on modern AM bikes is the weight! So i want to do it reasonably light.
Also i want to stay true to a retro spirit so to speak.. clean, brands that do their own stuff.. or at least have some design taste..

For parts, I got inspired by those blue outlines...
Bit of carbon goes well with grey frame imo :)

some weights. The rear hub is very impresive. Also Next cranks r very light (unlike some other carbon cranks) I was very surprised when i red that these are cactually made in Canada!

This is when i counted 600g for Louisa brakes that i already have spare.
If id go for some FORMILA R1 it could be couple hundred grams off ..
Same with pedals. Im counting with steel EggBeaters 270g
Titanium ones r 100 less..
I can go tubeless which is about 80g less.

I think in any case my realistic target is 10,5 - 10,8kg
thats OK i think..
One thing i cannot do is start counting how much i already spent on this..
That can have radical influence on final weight since i still have some parts to buy :?

Great bikes the Prophet.
I got mine down as a retroish (2004) trail ride.
Sorted it all out and it handles everything really well:-

Will be watching your build on this.

Great looking polished speedplay!
mine is 140 aswell. Im actually quite curious to see how it rides. Never rode anything with that much travel..
Also im getting 2x10 XO drivetrain including the new gripshift, so
that will also be something new..
