woke to rain and gales today and 12hrs later its getting worse!

as luck would have it, my PDW fatbike fenders arrived today from charlie the bike monger.....though im staying indoors for now as its far too wild!

http://www.ridepdw.com/

http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/

front sells at £10 and rear is £16, amazingly simple idea and amazing value for something thats very effective.

basically they are a flat pack design, that are quick release, and both use pop studs for added ease of use and are designed extra wide for the larger diameter tires including the BFLs.

Image

assembled and fitted in under 5 minutes each!

Image

quick release, pops open rubber lock...

Image

Image

Image

BFL is well covered

Image

as is front tire

Image

simple pull through and lock rubbers

the front looks huge at first, but clears the fork and feet dont obstruct on the 20'' moony, no idea if small frames will have any issues.

well, another cracking 20 mile ride out with the RB guys yesterday at rosedale!

aftermath here...

http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=223027

few choice pics from the day, all in all i was happy the way the bike coped with the moorland and fast xc rolling routes and rocky sections...only let down on a few short sections where the tires span due to wear and tear and not having pressures low....but bike is still coping well with baldy tires!

now over 1,300 miles!

Image

Image

Image

some sections are old railway routes so require very little effort, just sit and enjoy the huge scenery!

Image

Image

popped into the white lion pub and bumped into 3 more surlys including a SS pug!

Image

Image

i admired the karate monkey

Image

after a stunning lunch and a good chat we were off again!

whenever i view this thread i always find my self thinking about selling all my bikes (plus maybe a non vital organ) and getting one of these!

The new fatbike fenders were great, you can just plough through anything and my upper body and face were spotless!

Always enjoy your posts and photos. Even though no intention of fatbike. Stunning scenery whether Cumbria or NE .

Thanks

Rode my first moon yesterday :D :D :D

avid's as usual squeeled like a pig but the moonie was suprisingly flickable and didn't really show the weight it has...I was quiet suprised..and quite happy

all I need now is a way to buy it..hide it in the shed until caught out only to say..that old thing? I've had it for ages..bought it dead cheap...like she does with her clothes and shoes
