Even though the Mc Rea bikes were "budget", I've always thought something like this would be worth doing. XT level and practical finishing kit is just the way to go - good work fella! :)

I'm not liking the grips or white cables, but them things are entirely personal preference, and if you like 'em, that's what counts!

just to update anyone interested. I have now finally found a rear mavic x618 rim to match the front. And as an added extra it was built with a hope blue anodised xc hub. Also put an m770 xt cassette on. So the whole thing is xt now. Nearly done. lol :D
