What are the brakes? Levers look a nice shape.

Altek BL-25 levers. Discs are Avid BB7's, 180mm rotor in the front and 160mm in the back. Cheap and simple, like me!

Right you are. This is a 2006 TNT style frame, with the rear pivot on the seatstay and not the chainstay like your Horst frame. In 2007, I believe, the offset chainstays appeared.

It is a hoot to ride. This retro thing may be over rated!

Well with over 10 Turner frames sitting in the bike cave I do know a little about them ;)

The 5 Spot is a brilliant bike and yes it does make the retro bikes hard to go back to in some repects.

I've done just about eveything on my 5 Spot from short course races to multi day epics and it just keeps on going.

Past tense?

That's a good looking bike, Shamus, but there's a big eyeball on the toptube. :?

Hope you didn't get hurt when that rocker broke.

Is the broken rocker modified to clear the damper top up valve?

It is, as is the replacement. Anodized after being relieved to clear the valve, so it is a factory change. I'm looking for unmodded 5.3 rockers, but so far no dice.
