Thanks to a whole bunch of guys on here... I have pretty much all the bits needed to start my first ever build. The frame was going to be polished, but I got bored. I'll get a polishing kit at some point and finish it, but I just want to ride the damned thing

It's not particularly pretty, with a hotch-potch of different bits, but here's the spec (ish)

Frame: Viking Alloy 6102. Not much to look at but was free.
Forks: Chili works
Wheels: Mavic Rims on Shimano disc hubs
Headset: Acor semi-integrated
Stem: FSA 100mm I think about 10 deg rise
Bars: No name steel flat bars that I had lying about with Ritchey True Grips
Brake Levers: Avid FR5
Shifters: Deore Rapidfire
Front Mech: Deore LX
Rear Mech: Acera
Cassette: 9spd Shimano
Chain: KMC (Yet to arrive)
Seatpost: Tioga t-Bone with Specialized Clamp
Saddle: Selle Bossano
Brakes: Zoom Mechanical disc

Fitted Bottom Bracket, Forks & Stem

Added Bars Levers, Shifters, Seatpost & Rear Mech

It's in the Conservatory (He says trying not to sound posh).

And my missus isn't too fond of the idea either tbh

My front mech and cables haven't arrived yet, but it's looking like a bike...

Looks a nice frame. Like the design of the head tube. Looks like its coming together nicely :)

Yeah... I kinda liked the design too.

Just installed a shiny Deore LX front mech with some gash cables I had lying about.

Hopefully the proper cables will arrive tomorrow and I can finish it.

Couldn't wait any longer, and bought a couple of brake cables from Halfords and finished it off last night.

Hopefully it will go on its maiden voyage tonight.

I wish I'd just bought the Halfords cables in the first place. Clarkes cables that seem a really decent quality, and stainless to boot. £3 for a inner and £4 for inner and outer.

I'll take some better quality pics of the finished article tonight too hopefully.
