Here is my 98 Timberline I got given from a mate (well actually I swapped him for a pair of tyres) its in ok condition so I'm planning on building it up as cheap as I can and just use as a hack and in the winter.

Alivio groupset stole from donor bike 24 speed. All I need is to buy a new front mech and get the cassette removed from the rear wheel. 8) 8)

Got these wheels off Ebay for £45 so time will tell how they hold up.
